This recording was just released by Justin Vernon last Thursday. If you are a Bon Iver fan you will not be disappointed.
La Blogotheque has the best collection of creative music videos of several of my favorite artists in random locations (primarily France…I think). I can’t visit their standard website because I don’t speak french, but the La Blogotheque Youtube page (hint: click here!) is an excellent source to spend a few solid hours on. After poking around the Youtube page a little further, I did find a little summary of their overall mission (in english). Here it is:
Every week, we invite an artist or a band to play in the streets, in a bar, a park, or even in a flat or in an elevator, and we film the whole session. Of course, what makes the beauty of it is all the little incidents, hesitations, and crazy stuff happening unexpectingly. Besides, we do not edit the videos so they look perfectly flawless, instead we keep the raw sound of the surroundings. Our goal is to try and capture instants, film the music just like it happens, without preparation, without tricks. Spontaneity is the keyword.
Check out the video I’ve posted of Bon Iver filmed by La Blogotheque, there are several others, but this one stuck with me this evening!
Hope you enjoy it, and don’t forget to check out their youtube page here!
